Unexploded World War II ordinance found in Tangmere: buildings evacuated as EOD teams respond

An unexploded piece of Second World War ordnance was found in Tangmere on Sunday evening, November 27.

Yesterday at 5.47pm Chichester Police made a statement on Twitter that said: “Police are responding to the discovery of a piece of Second World War ordnance in Hampden Place, Tangmere. A small number of surrounding buildings have been evacuated and a cordon has been placed around the area while specialist EOD teams remove it safely.”

At 6.26pm police said the unexploded ordnance had been safely removed.
