UPDATE: Air ambulance called after OAP cyclist and car collide

The air ambulance was called after an 83-year-old cyclist was in collision with a car.

A police spokesman said the Storrington man suffered head and back injuries after being knocked off his bike in Storrington High Street at about 10am today (Monday March 7).

A police spokesman said: “The cyclist, an 83-year old Storrington man, was being treated at the scene for head and back injuries. “Initial reports do not suggest that the injuries are life threatening.

“An air ambulance was called, but was stood down by paramedics before it arrived as it was not needed.”

Paramedics took the man to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester.
