A Crawley road has re-opened after a gas leak this afternoon (Monday December 7).
The B2036 Balcombe Road was closed in both directions between the Radford Road junction and the B2037 Antlands Lane junction.
A spokesman for SGN, which is responsible for the gas network in the south, said repairs are still ongoing but the road has now been re-opened with temporary traffic lights in place.
The spokesman said: “We are carrying out an emergency repair to our gas mains in Balcombe Road, near Cranbrook Nursery.
“The road is open to traffic with two-way temporary traffic lights in place. We’re aware that this is a busy road in Crawley and will be doing everything we can to complete our repair as quickly as possible.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank road users for their patients.”
