Firefighters have returned to a West Sussex school this morning as investigations into last night’s blaze continue.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service sent six engines to deal with a fire at The Weald Community School in Station Road, Billingshurst at about 7pm.
The fire was extinguished last night but the cause of the fire was not immediately clear, the fire service said.
Firefighters went back to the school this morning in order to assess the scene and investigate the cause of the blaze.
Arson has still not been ruled out, a fire service spokesperson confirmed.
The Weald School is a secondary school and sixth form that teaches around 1,700 pupils aged 11 to 18.
It was expected to be open this morning.
