UPDATE: Man and woman taken to hospital after collision

A man and woman have been taken to hospital following a collision in East Grinstead.

The two-car collision happened on the A22 Lewes Road, between Woodbury Close and the B2110 Lewes Road, at around 1pm today (July 27).

A South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) spokesman said: “Two ambulances attended the scene and both patients, a man and woman, have been taken to East Surrey Hospital.

“The man had a shoulder injury and both patients had potential head injuries.”

The road had been closed both ways following the collision, but one lane has now reopened, according to Sussex Roads Police.

Very slow traffic has been reported between Ashurstwood and East Grinstead.
