A tribute has been paid to a seven-year-old Crawley boy who drowned in Egypt on Tuesday.

The youngster who played for Crawley Town Boys at the Furngate Sixes tournament on Saturday has been described as ‘a lovely little kid’.

His coach Andy Aitken said: “He really was a good kid, he never argued, he was such a lovely little kid and he’s going to be really missed.

“It’s just devastating.

“I still cannot believe he’s not with us.

“You understand when it’s parents and grandparents but a seven-year-old.

“It’s really shocked all the parents.”
