A woman was badly hurt after her car left the road and hit a tree.
Emergency services were called to the crash south of Bonnetts Lane, in Ifield, at around 8am on Sunday (February 7).
Police said a red Vauxhall Corsa, being driven by the 48-year-old from Crawley, left the road and collided with a tree and a fence.
The woman was released from the car by firefighters and paramedics and taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
She was treated for chest injuries and is in a serious but stable condition, police said.
Sergeant Richard Hornsey of the Surrey and Sussex Road Policing Unit said; “If you saw what happened please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org or call 101, quoting Operation Assembly.”
