VIDEO: Tree which fell on house and car was reported to council

A tree has fallen on a house and a car in Crawley.

Firefighters were called to the scene in The Birches, Thre Bridges, at about 9pm yesterday (Thursday November 19).



The tree was reported as ‘leaning over’ to West Sussex County Council earlier in the day, a Crawley Borough Council spokesman has confirmed.

The county council’s tree contractors were on site this morning.

The council was asked for comment but has yet to respond.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said a tree fell across the road and on to a parked car.

Chainsaw were used to remove branches.

The tree was removed from the vehicle and road by Technical Rescue Unit officers and firefighters using a crane.

The area was cordoned off and a tree sugeon was called to the scene.

The fire service was in attendance from 8.36pm to 10.19pm.
