Village Voices: Sedlescombe - November 26, 2010

This Saturday November 27, is a big event in the fund raising calendar for the parish church of St John the Baptist they will be holding their annual Christmas fair at the village hall.

There will lots of stalls to help you with your Christmas shopping and plenty of fun for everyone. The doors will open at 2pm and refreshments will be served during the afternoon.

Don’t forget to support your village this year and shop local this Christmas.

There is to be a Christmas Taster evening at Sedlescombe Stores on Tuesday November 30 from 7.30pm onwards. there will be the opportunity to sample wines for the festive season and available to order in advance, special case prices for wines and spirits.

Come and try some of what local producers have on offer for you this year including Asselton cakes and chutneys, Busters meats, Korkers sausages, Weald Smokery ham fish and pates, cheeses.

Orders over £20 taken on the night for christmas will qualify for free local delivery. Orders are also now being taken for bread , milk, cream, eggs,vegetables etc.

The switching on of Sedlescombe christmas tree has been scheduled for Sunday December 5, full details and times to be published next week.

Grateful thanks to Pat Martin for cutting the tree down and to Ralph Dellow, Bob Harris and Jim Emery who will be ensuring it arrives and is decorated for the above date.

Two weeks today, on Friday December 10, the Parish Church invites you to come and welcome the great festive event that is Christmas, with Cantabile and some talented young soloists who will be celebrating The Christmas Story in song. Tickets; £8 from The Village Shop and the Rectory 870233

Sedlescombe Youth Club are appealing to you.Has anyone have a table tennis table they no longer need or any other equipment that would be suitable to use by the youth club?
