If you are looking for something fun and different to do – head down to Tilgate Nature Centre’s new Madagascan Zone and meet some ‘weird and wonderful’ wildlife.
The Nature Centre is opening on Saturday (April 1) and will include new aviary and reptile huts filled with some of the strangest-looking lizards on the planet, a council spokesman has revealed.
Recent visitors would have noticed a huge amount of building work taking place right in the middle of the Nature Centre, based in Tilgate Park.
Councillor Chris Mullins, cabinet member for Wellbeing at Crawley Borough Council, said: “The Madagascan Zone and its exciting cast of inhabitants will make a fantastic addition to Tilgate Nature Centre.
“Tilgate Park makes for a fantastic, great value day out and a visit to the Nature Centre is one of the highlights. So, make a note in your diary and join us for our opening day on Saturday – it’s going to be great!”
The opening on Saturday will include special talks and feeds with the new animals, as well as Madagascan music, quizzes and competitions.
There will even be a couple of surprise animals on the day, the council spokesman added.
Crawley Borough Council will also be raising funds on the day to help support the people and animals of Madagascar.
