Sussex faces sleet and snow showers this weekend as the weather finally turns wintry across the country.

After an autumn so far of temperatures in double figures and strong gusting winds, the thermometer is set to drop dramatically.

Tomorrow (Friday November 20) will see rain in the morning and sunny intervals in the afternoon.

However, the Met Office says that Saturday’s temperatures will only get up to around 5/6degC, although in the wind it will feel more like minus 3 or 4degC.

Sleet or snow showers are forecast but the ground is still too warm for any snow to linger.

Sunday will remain chilly with the sun making a brief appearance.

Monday, though, should see a lot more sunshine with the maximum temperature staying in low single figures.
