Sussex weather outlook for week ahead: More snow forecast

There will be widespread snow and bitterly cold winds throughout the county today (Sunday, February 7), according to the Met Office.

The snow will be heavy at times, particularly across eastern areas.

The Met Office said there will be further significant accumulations and drifting of snow, especially for eastern areas.

There is a danger of ice on untreated surfaces.

The maximum temperature is expected to be 1°C.

Tonight snow will continue to be widespread, the Met Office said, which will be heavy at times and drifting in places.

Winds will remain strong, especially near coastal areas.

It will be icy and feel bitterly cold, with a minimum temperature of -4°C.

Tomorrow (Monday, February 8) there will be snow showers likely, with further accumulations and drifting of snow in strong winds.

The Met Office said winds will become lighter with snow easing but it will remain bitterly cold, with a maximum temperature of 0°C.

There remains a chance of the odd scattered snow shower through Tuesday (February 9) and Wednesday (February 10).

The Met Office said it will remain cold but with spells of winter sunshine, becoming more widespread on Thursday (February 11).
