Wick Week set for lift-off

WICK’S biggest festival is set to kick-off with a bang tomorrow (Saturday, July 25).

That’s right, Wick Week is making its return – and this year’s line-up is just as busy as ever before.

The week-long festival aims to showcase all the things that makes the community special.

The action begins on Saturday with a summer market and pet show at Wick Hall, in Wick Street, from 11am until 2pm.

The whole day is free to join and features karaoke for children, a Punch and Judy show and free lunch boxes for youngsters.

Football stars of the future will be able to get their fill on Monday, with the launch of the soccer school at The Littlehampton Academy, for boys and girls aged between seven and 11. The week costs £10 but booking is essential. For details, call 07834 223001.

Elsewhere, Sparkles Singing and Dancing for children will be held at Wick Hall, in Wick Street.

The first session is from 10-11am for children between four and seven years of age. Then from 11.15am-12.15pm for children older than this. To book, call 07939 835747 or 01903 859260

Out and About will be hosting a whole host of free activities for children aged five to 12, from Monday to Friday at Water Lane, opposite the Wickbourne Centre, from 2-4pm.

Tuesday is packed, from taster sessions with the Sussex Tornados, in Lineside Industrial Estate from 10am to 3pm, to the Wick Fryers Lunch for over 50s, at Wick Hall, at noon, and bingo with the Wick 50up club at the hall, from 1.30pm.

The Wickbourne Centre will also be getting in on the action, with a free family party from 7-8.30pm.

Then, later, at Wick Hall, there will be an adults singing session from 7.30-9pm. To book, call 07939 835747 or 01903 859260.

On Wednesday there will be the popular family film night, at the Wickbourne Centre, in Clun Road, from 6pm. The night is free. For details call 01903 276840.

Wick’s Got Talent will be returning next Thursday at the Wickbourne Centre, from 7pm.
