Thousands auditioned for the popular ITV talent show this year but only 60 contestants remain, including the 16-year-old Haywards Heath Sixth Form pupil, from Horsham.

However, the teenager had to break the news on Twitter after he was not included in last night’s (Sunday September 27) programme.

His rendition of Beyonce’s Love On Top impressed celebrity judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora.

The youngster, who said he thought his phone ‘was going to break’ when he was shown on last week’s episode, is one of the final 15 boys with just weeks remaining until the live shows.

The former student at Oriel High School in Crawley has been singing and performing since the age of five.
