Young kings and queens of chess

Three young Crawley chess players have helped their team hold on to the national championship under 12s title after outmanoeuvring opponents from Kent and South Wales.

Amardip Ahluwalia, Harry Armstrong and Madeleine Liu were part of the Sussex Juniors side which reclaimed the title in Telford on November 9. The under 16s also won their title, meaning Sussex Juniors now hold all the titles from under 11 to under 16. Manager Jonathan Tuck described the youngsters’ achievement as “magnificent”.
