At this time of year it’s always good to reflect on the past year and everything that has been achieved. Crawley CVS is no exception and we are proud of our successes.

Our training programme continues to go from strength to strength, several courses were sold out and there was so much demand for the Emergency First Aid Course that we had to run another.

We continued to host forums and fundraising events for members and the Young Crawley project has grown, meaning that more families in Crawley have received support when they have been in crisis.

March saw the launch of our new membership scheme which is now free to local groups. We now have 85 groups that have a say in the management and running of our organisation.

Over 2 tonnes of food has been donated to the Crawley Food Collective by local schools and Corporate Supporters. This is being distributed to local charities which provide support to Crawley’s homeless, vulnerable and most disadvantaged.

Volunteer Crawley was launched in the summer and installed a self-service touch screen in the reception area of The Orchard. This enables people to come in and access the Do-It website anytime between 9am - 4pm, Monday to Friday. Once again we held an event for older people in Crawley. Over 90 people found out about activities on offer in Crawley and enjoyed taster sessions in Tai Chi, ballroom dancing and chair-based exercises. We welcomed Sussex Oakleaf and Age UK West Sussex to The Orchard as our latest tenants. Finally we were delighted when the Mayor of Crawley chose Crawley CVS as one of her charities for 2015-16.
