LETTER: Queens Square will have trees

RE: the letter from Mr Cooban related to trees in the redeveloped Queens Square, I’d like to put his mind at rest.

I completely support the need for green elements and trees in the new Queens Square and can assure Mr Cooban – and any other concerned residents – that they will feature in the final designs.

The plans that have been submitted as part of the planning application are only indicative. We are still working through the detailed design elements, which will include soft landscaping.

The planning application is expected to be determined in August.

I’m pleased that Mr Cooban supports our exciting plans for town centre regeneration and hope that he’s reassured that a good level of tree cover in Queens Square is something we all agree is needed.
