The internet is getting excited about a photo of a jar of ‘white chocolate’ Nutella - but is it real?

Bruce Super Convenience recently shared the image on their Instagram account, leaving people begging to find out where to get one in the comments.

Is it real?

Unfortunately, the product is not an official Nutella product, so you won’t be able to buy the spread in your local supermarket anytime soon.

The jar shown in the Instagram photo is actually filled with a homemade concoction, a mocked up label in the style of the real product.

Bruce Super Convenience said they were sent the “blessed jar” from @thesnackcontroller, another Australian based snack and food reviewer.

In the post they wrote, ”This jar, with that logo so famous, is found on shelves ALL over the world... but alas, it’s always a dark brown colour... milk chocolate flavour. This one has a white - slightly golden - colour, and even look at the toast in the picture, it has a white spread on it!”

They cleared up any confusion over whether you can buy it adding, “Ok, I’m going to be bombarded with messages and DM’s, so let me answer right now - no, this is not a real product, and no, you cannot buy your body’s weight of this product!"

What does white chocolate Nutella taste like?

Describing the taste of the white chocolate concoction, Bruce Super Convenience said, “The spread smells like a Kinder dream, and it tastes even better... It has the familiarity of a Kinder product, with a strong hazelnut influence, and creamy white-milk-chocolate (can that be a thing?!).”

How to make your own

If you want to make the white chocolate Nutella for yourself, there are a few recipes online.

Here is one courtesy of Dulcisss in Forno.

First, put the toasted hazelnuts, icing sugar and vanillin into a mixer or a food processor with blades. Blend everything until you get a very fine mixture - it will take three to four minutes. Keep aside.

Put the cream in a saucepan with the butter into small pieces and heat until just touching the boil.

Lower the heat to low and add the chopped white chocolate and stir, so that it melts completely.

Also, add the blended hazelnuts and continue cooking for five minutes, always over low heat, stirring with a hand whisk, to prevent lumps from forming. It is normal for it to remain quite liquid.

Pour into the jar and wait for it to cool completely before closing the jar and placing in the fridge.

Once cold, you will see that it will thicken, becoming the right consistency. It will take around 30 minutes.
