Morrisons and Amazon have teamed up to offer the full range of Morrisons products to shoppers with same day delivery options.

This is everything you need to know about the partnership - and how to shop at Morrisons via the Amazon website.

Who can use the service?

Morrisons on Amazon is initially only available for customers in Leeds. Users will be able to buy their shopping using the ‘Morrisons on Amazon’ shop on the digital marketplace.

Through the partnership, Amazon Prime customers will be able to receive same day deliveries on orders over £40.

How to shop

Shoppers will be able to see the Morrisons option along the top bar of the Amazon website, next to Prime Video. It can also be found in the dropdown menu beside the search bar, between ‘luggage’ and ‘musical instruments’.

You’ll need to have a Leeds postcode as the delivery address, otherwise you won’t be able to see the Morrisons options.

You can also download the Amazon app from the app store on your mobile device and shop there.

What can I buy?

When you’ve clicked on the Morrisons section on Amazon, you’ll be able to see their full range of options, divided up into categories like ‘fresh & chilled’, ‘food cupboard’ and ‘frozen’.

The Amazon site states that Morrisons free delivery is only available by invitation to Prime members, as the free delivery is high in demand.

When you click on a product, you’ll be able to see a button that says ‘request an invite’. Once you’ve clicked this, you’ll receive a notification for when you can start shopping with Morrisons on Amazon.

When you’re looking at an item, you can see which Morrisons store it will be dispatched from, depending on your postcode. For example, the postcode LS1 1HT will show that your items will come from Hunslet Morrisons.

What have Amazon and Morrisons said about the partnership?

Doug Gurr, Amazon UK country manager, said, “The launch of Morrisons on Amazon means increased visibility for Morrisons’ incredible service and selection, as well as an even greater choice for our customers.

“We’re always looking at ways to make Prime even better and this expansion of our relationship with Morrisons means that millions of Prime members can soon order their weekly groceries from their local Morrisons shop, with same-day delivery, at no extra cost.”

David Potts, Morrisons chief executive, said, “Morrisons on Amazon will build on our partnership with Amazon, making our good quality, great value food even more accessible through Amazon.co.uk and the Amazon app.

“It will give more and more customers the option of receiving Morrisons groceries straight to their doorstep, including freshly prepared products from our brilliant Market Street colleagues.”

Other ways to buy Morrisons groceries

For customers who don’t use Amazon Prime, or who don’t live in Leeds, there are other ways to have your Morrisons groceries delivered to your doorstep.

Earlier this year, in April, Morrisons launched an on-demand delivery service with Deliveroo which allows customers to order groceries via the app.

Alternatively, Morrisons also operates a larger grocery delivery business directly through its own website, which is fulfilled through a distribution deal with Ocado.
