Albion edge out Golds in cup final

LITTLEHAMPTON Ladies FC were unable to cap a great season with the Sussex Cup on Thursday but gave their higher-division opponents a fright before going down to a 55th-minute goal.

Golds, from the South East Counties Premier Division, are three leagues below Premier League Southern Division Brighton but more than matched their opponents.

Littlehampton manager Kev Why said: "I'm over the moon with the way we played. I'm so proud of all the girls.

"We were representing Littlehampton Football Club and it was a massive achievement to reach the final."
