ARUNDEL SQUEEZE PAST RIVALS

AFTER eight dropped catches and several other highly anxious moments, Arundel squeezed a five-wickets away victory out of Clymping to remain at the top of the table.

Finally, it was the phlegmatic Richard Diplock, with a mixture of the text-book and the unorthodox, who steered them to success and he will play very few more valuable innings than his 73 not out on Saturday.

It took his side to 159-5 and included eight fours and a six, and he shared an unbroken stand of 61 with his captain Steve Mullen, who, it seems, can do no wrong at the moment.

Clymping bowled well and, particularly in the last 10 overs, fielded like demons to try to avoid defeat.
