Brighton star hopes to break top-six duck at Arsenal

The Seagulls are yet to pick up a point away to the league's top clubs in their two seasons back in the top flight. They have another chance this afternoon when they travel to the Emirates to play Arsenal.

Albion were beaten only by a late Christian Eriksen goal at Tottenham recently and also only lost 1-0 at Liverpool, 2-1 at Manchester United and 2-0 at Manchester City, while they went down 3-0 away to Chelsea.

Arsenal have lost three successive Premier League matches heading into today's game and on picking up points away to a top side, Duffy said: "You always hope that it will happen. It might not but we believe we are good enough.

"Obviously at home we know we are a different proposition and more confident but we have also been better away from home this season. We lost 1-0 at Liverpool and we feel that we have been, maybe not up to our home form, but a lot closer in games.

"We have been a lot closer to what we want to achieve and hopefully we can break that duck."

It could be another backs-to-the-wall performance from Albion's defenders at Arsenal - similar to at Tottenham - and Duffy said: "It’s not that we wanted to play like that but as a centre half you want to be tested and we were.

"We had top-class players against us but on the day Dunky was an absolute monster. As long as we make it difficult for them and play hard, that’s the thing.

"Listen, we’re centre halves, we’re ugly and we don’t get all the plaudits of a Glenn Murray but at the end of the day I’m a defender and I’ll never change the way I am."
