Cowdray ladies win foursome

The competition '“ a county knock-out they previously won in 2006 '“ is played with three pairs from each club in Sussex. The Cowdray players were Hannah Ralph and Sue Brown, Debbie Cheasley and Jill Parry, plus Janice Leath and Wendy Street. The remainder of the squad were Morag Carter, Ann Tyrrell and Tessa Stockwell.

Earlier in the year Cowdray beat Ifield away, Hassocks at home then Ham Manor away, qualifying to play in the quarter-finals at Mannings Heath, where they beat Sweetwoods 3/0.

The semi-final and final at Eastbourne Downs saw Cowdray play Bognor in the morning, the second pair winning on the 19th hole and the third pair being called in on the 19th hole. Cowdray beat Cottesmore 2/1 in the afternoon.
