In the first meeting of the season with their near-neighbours, the Hawks were up against it from the off as they only had one player spare.

Lightning took full advantage of this, as wave-after-wave of pressure crashed against the Hawks resulting in a 20-10 lead for the hosts in the first quarter.

Crawley relentlessly added to their scoring in each quarter, extending their lead, and strong rebounding at both ends of the court coupled with unselfish teamwork from the Lightning ladies ensured they had full control of the game.

As the fourth quarter came to an end Lightning ran out comfortable 61-39 victors to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season, after two games played.

Topscorers for Crawley were Alissa Walker with 13 points, followed by Brogan Webber and Mille Lea-Clayton, with 11 and eight points respectively.

After a fine performance, Lightning will be looking to carry on this intensity as they travel to Sir Robert Woodward Academy, Lancing to take on SRWA Bears on Monday, December 3.
