The auction, which has been launched by the ECB in partnership with all 18 first-class counties, the PCA and the MCC, will raise money for local charities across England and Wales.

Funds raised from items donated by Sussex Cricket will go back into the local community, with supporters invited to nominate charities they believe would benefit from the ‘Together Through This Test’ auction. Details of the nomination process will be announced in the coming weeks.

A Sussex spokesman said: "We would like to thank our fantastic sponsors, supporters and friends of the club for their kind donation of items. Hopefully, the amazing selection on offer will appeal to a wide range of people, and a considerable amount of money can be raised for various charities across our county.

"We do, however, also appreciate that the times we currently find ourselves in are difficult for some, and while you might love to donate to the ‘Together Through This Test’ auction, you might not be in a position to do so.

"Therefore, we are also launching the ‘Send a Sid’ campaign, which asks fans to purchase a cuddly Sid the Shark toy for £15, with £5 from each purchase being added to Sussex’s ‘Together Through This Test’ fund.

"Buy your Sid today and put a smile on a loved one's face or, keep it for yourself - all whilst helping raise money for a worthwhile cause."
