Blandford brothers lift Three Bridges to joint second in table with four-wicket win against Lindfield

Three Bridges captain Olle Blandford hit 69 and took 3-33 as they beat Lindfield by four wickets.

Bridges were still missing their overseas Anish Paraam and Mike Rose was also unavailable.

Lindfield won the toss and it was no surprise that they chose to bat first.

Though they instantly lost Jack Sadler caught off the bowling of Olle Blandford in the first over.

Simon Shivnarain and Tem Hodson then formed a positive partnership hitting boundaries of the loose balls and took the score to 40 before Olle Blandford bowled Shivnarain.

Conor Golding and Adrian Chappell came on to provide much needed control after Chaudhary made a quick fire 18 with some ariel and uncontrolled shots, he then fell to Golding caught on the ring by Archit Patel.

Scott then fell in similar fashion this time off the bowling of Chappell and Lindfield were 100-4.

Overseas player Hodson passed 50 and looked set to make a big score before he hit a full toss of leg spinner Bellers down the throat of Danny Alderman when on 64.

Experienced due Phil Weir and Nick Hopkins were cautious in forming their partnership as the run rate dropped.

Hopkins started to up the rate and look good until he was bowled by a good yorker from the returning Golding.

The score passed 170 however good bowling at the death from Bridges restricted Lindfield to just one boundary in the last 12 overs.

Olle Blandford bowled Shohel Ahmed and two run-outs in the last over from Hugo Cowan meant Lindfield were bowled out for 188.

Olle Blandford took 3-33 and Golding finished with 2-22.

Once again the Bridges chase didn't get off to the ideal start, openers Cowan and Golding were both out to James Pearce in the first six overs before Russell was unlucky to be given out LBW soon after.

Captain Olle Blandford started well however and got runs ticking over with Joe Walker.

Walker however dragged a wide one onto his stumps off Ahmed and Bridges were 40-4. Blandford and Alderman got set against some tight Lindfield bowling and took the score to 70 when Harry Chaudhary had Alderman LBW for 9 in his first over.

Brother Tom joined Olle as Bridges were looking at defeat, however the pair dug in and steadied the innings.

Younger Olle Blandford was the more free scoring until boundaries started to come easily for Tom as well.

They moved to a 50-partnership as Olle passed his own 50 and the game was in the balance.

The pair continued to bat in a disciplined fashion as the run-rate was never an issue, they took the game away from Lindfield as the extra face of the returning opening bowlers made it easier to score.

Tom passed his maiden half century of the season a few overs before Olle hit Pearce to mid-off and was out for a well made 69.

With just seven needed to win, Tom saw Bridges over the line with a brilliant 63 not out as they chased 188-6.

The win meant Bridges have won four out the five opening limited over fixtures and see themselves joint-second in the league.

They visit table-toppers Billingshurst next week.
