The players worked hard during the off-season to maintain high fitness levels and improve their match skills with the Sussex Academy. Now they’re beginning to reap the rewards.

Both boys recently featured in the county’s 2nd XI matches against Somerset and Lancashire while George was twelfth man for the 1st team’s pre-season friendly against Loughborough.

The pair’s achievements parallel those of recent College leavers Tim Moses, Leo Cammish and Bradley Gayler.

Tim and Leo continue to feature for the Sussex 2nd XI while Bradley has been selected to play for Loughborough MCCU (Marylebone Cricket Club University).

For these young men, cricket forms almost as much a part of life as it does for the professionals. Hurst looks forward to following their continued progress in the future.
