Ifield’s batting fell apart as they lost to Findon by 160 runs.
John Roger made 65 and Bradley Bridson hit 54 as Findon reached 214 for nine.
Ifield bowled well with Graeme Dean being the surprise package with 4-43 and Guru Kedarnath taking 2-66 from a long stint.
Spinner Jigar Parekh showed consistent form with 2-32.
A remarkable bowling performance from Curtis Howell saw him take seven for nine in seven overs as Ifield were dismissed for just 54.
Dean again emerged with the best figures, topscoring with 18 in a poor batting display which allowed Findon to rise up to third while Ifield slipped down to eighth.
Skipper Jack Groves is expecting a reaction from this defeat when they travel to play newly-promoted Ansty this Saturday.
He said: “I said I expect a reaction before when we lost heavily and we came back with two wins on the bounce.
“I trust we can bounce back again straight away next week.”
Groves reckoned the Findon defeat was down to his batters after the bowlers did a good job.
He said: “We thought 214 was about par and I was happy with the way we bowled and fielded.
“We made a bad start (120-0) and showed good character to claw our way back into the game.
“Graeme Dean had not bowled all season, came on and bowled exceptionally well.
“Jigar and Guru bowled really well and were unlucky to only pick up two wickets each.”
Groves slammed Ifield’s batting. He said: “It was a combination of Findon bowling well but we were nowhere near good enough.”
