Reigate Priory 90 for nine, Horley 91 for five

Horley made it two wins out of two this season as they beat Reigate Priory in a very competitive and tactical match.

A patient Horley side won the match with one over to play thanks to an excellent batting performance from Freddie Holland and Cian Wickham, with Oliver Sturt hitting two fours to win the match.

Horley lost their first league match of the season but there were many encouraging signs, not least Udith Molanguri bowling a triple wicket maiden.

On a chilly and sometimes drizzly evening Horley batted first and lost two wickets in the first over but improved enough to reach a modest total of 243 for six from their 20 overs.

Under-Nines

Felbridge and Sunnyside 269 for eight, Horley 344 for 0

Horley batted their whole 20 overs without losing a single wicket to win by 65 runs.

Josh Robinson pulled off a spectacular run-out and Matthew Girling took a fine catch, with Sam Terry, Oscar Davies, Ollie Millard, Henry Grimwood and Luke Smith all taking wickets. Davies and Terry gave the Horley innings a sound start, Luke Quinn and Matthew Shore-Nye didn’t get many hittable balls in their four overs.
