Ifield made it five wins out of six with an emphatic seven-wicket home victory over Crowhurst Park.
Crowhurst won the toss and batted first but found scoring difficult against a tight opening spell from Daniel Groves and Pratik Patel.
They reached 44 off 22 overs before the introduction of spin led to the first wicket when a great grab from Joe Smith at short leg off the bowling of Guru Kedarnath accounted for Dale Payne and then very next ball Kedarnath bowled Bradley Payne.
The visitors proceeded to lose four further wickets for justone run and at 47 for 6 were in major trouble but new batsmen Tong and Day took the attack to the bowlers and put on 93 runs for the 7th wicket before Tong was caught by Pratik Patel for 51. Day quickly followed for 35 and then the final three wickets all went with the score on 146.
Kedarnath and Jigar Patel shared the spoils with five wickets each.
Ifield’s response got off to a bad start when openers Joe Smith and Joe Cooke were both out with the score only on six but Kedarnath and Greg Barton eased any home worries with some sensible batting interspersed with big hitting that led to a stand of 90 runs before Kedarnath departed for 52.
Skipper Jack Groves joined Barton and they closed in on the target with some comfort and a big six from Groves over long on secured victory with seven wickets and 30 overs in hand.
Groves finished on 29 not out and Barton an excellent 56 not out including 4 sixes.
Ifield travel to Lingfield next Saturday.
