Lindfield won the toss and batted first and despite an early wicket from Raza Ali the visitors accumulated runs steadily and they built a competitive score of 203 for 5 off 53 overs.

Michael Rippon was the standout batsman with an unbeaten 66 but Ifield were disappointed not to take more wickets.

Ifield’s reply started badly when Joe Smith was run out for just 1 and things went from bad to worse when Caltsounis, Jack Groves and Greg Barton all departed cheaply and Ifield found themselves at a disastrous 24 for 4 from which they never really recovered.

Raza Ali with 30 and Paul Clifford with 22 were the only Ifield batman to go on and reach double figures and the home side collapsed to an embarrassing 83 all out.

Hopefully this was one of those once in a season performances.

Ifield remain fifth in the table and will be keen to return to winning ways away at Chichester this Saturday.
