Having won promotion last season to Sussex League division four east, the club are preparing as best they can for the hopeful resumption of cricket in July.

The cricket square at Isfield CC is in superb condition, lovingly looked after and tended by groundsman David Williams, who has been maintaining the ground to a level that you could play bowls on it.

Locals say it must be up there with the best in the league.

With one of the wettest winters on record followed by the sunniest May, with only 9.6 mm average rainfall, pre-season rolling and reducing the height of cut has been a challenge, but looking at the square now he has got on top of it .
