Hellingly 156 all out
Crawley’s Indian overseas player Kunal Kapoor gave a superb all-round display with the bat and the ball to pave the way for a five-wicket victory over Hellingly.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat on the cold and overcast afternoon.
A steady start had Hellingly on 50 for 2, when disaster struck and 4 wickets were lost for the addition of 1 run, and were reeling at 51 for 6.
A display of intelligent batting between Will Hutchings (45) and Joe Hook (28) increased the score to 117, but with the loss of Hook, Hellingly struggled to build another partnership, and were bowled out for 156.
Crawley’s Kunal Kapoor was the pick of the bowling with 4 for 28 from 17 overs.
Chasing down a modest total, Crawley lost 5 wickets in reaching the target, with only Kapoor (67 not out) making an impression.
Gavin Sutherland took 2 for 45 for Hellingly.
