Sussex Sharks aiming to keep winning streak

Sussex Sharks aim to make it two wins out of two this weekend in the Yorkshire Bank 40, as they continue the tournament with a trip to last year’s finalists Warwickshire Bears at Edgbaston tomorrow, Sunday May 12 (1.45pm start).

The Sharks got off the mark in the competition lastnight with a 61 run win over Northamptonshire Steelbacks at Wantage Road on the Duckworth/Lewis Method. Sussex’s 215 for 7 included 95 from Chris Nash and 91 from skipper Ed Joyce, before Chris Jordan and Chris Liddle claimed three wickets apiece as Northamptonshire fell to 122 for 9 in the 27th over, as the rain came down again.

Sussex are without wicketkeeper-batsman Matt Prior for this match as he prepares to join up with the England squad ahead of the Test Series against New Zealand, so Matt Machan is added to the squad.

The Sussex squad is as follows:

JE Anyon

WAT Beer

BC Brown (wkt)

JS Gatting

RJ Hamilton-Brown

CJ Jordan

EC Joyce (capt)

CJ Liddle

MW Machan

CD Nash

MJ Rippon

LWP Wells
