After being put in to bat, Bridges’ James Chadburn made a disciplined 33 before he came down the track and chipped Ibrahim to midwicket, trying to accelerate the run-rate.

Despite having wickets in hand, Bridges were now looking at an uphill struggle to reach 225.

Speake finally departed for 75, once again topscoring for Bridges. Moses was caught behind off Simon and Gayler soon followed run out trying to get a quick single.

Ludlow pulled Simon for six and with Sakande got some valuable runs in the last 5 overs to get Bridges unto a respectable 197.

In Preston Nomads reply, Faith and Wakeford built a partnership and were quick to put away anything wide or short. Stacey replaced Adrian Chappell and bowled four tight overs to keep Bridges in the hunt.

Nomads soon needed a run a ball and soon Wakeford was run out amidst a miscommunication with the Nomands keeper McKerney for a topscoring 42. Sakande and Moses were both brought back into the attack with 40 odd needed and were quite brilliant.

Simon and McKerney were both cleaned up by Sakande and it was left to Ibrahim and Kernan to get the runs needed for victory. 11 was needed off the last over from Moses and Ibrahim hit a four through extra cover to make it just 7 from 3.

Ibrahim skied a length ball next which Gayler couldn’t quite get to, which would have marked a memorable victory for the away side. A mixture of both bitter disappointment and also pride to restrict Nomads to just 190.
