Golding said: “What was pleasing about the win is correcting our mistakes against Middleton. We established that our fielding was poor and that we could have executed our plans when bowling better, for me that’s this biggest take away from this game. Being able to correct those mistakes.”

Bridges batted first and posted 256-6 from their 40 overs with Sam Cooper (51) and James Russell (57) continuing their good form before Joe Walker hit a commanding 70 from 58 balls.

"There were some great batting displays from Sam Cooper, James Russell and Joe Walker again.

"Like I said at the start this cup gives opportunities to individuals who may have not had the chance last year and James Russell has definitely hit the ground running which just shows we have depth in our squad."

Golding added: “From looking at the first innings it was a day for the seamers myself and Arran Brown knew we had to set the tone from the off and look to get both key men Bryce Hounsome and Luke Wells out early and that’s exactly what we done.

“I believe all our bowlers hit the right lengths and coupled up with some good fielding, taking our chances in the field which created the pressure that ultimately won us the game.

"Raag kapur proved handy with both bat and ball taking three wickets. It's always nice take six wickets myself and have an impact on the game especially after failing with the bat."
