Usman hits 75 to help Crawley Eagles to win yet again

Crawley Eagles kept up their 100 per cent record with a 19-run victory away at Pagham.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat but were soon in trouble at 43-3 a counter attacking innings of 75 off only 52 balls including nine fours and three sixes from young Usman

Bashir supported by a solid 53 from Imran Suddahazai helped the team get to 200 all out, Joe De La Fuente was the pick of the bowlers with 4-41 off his seven overs.

Pagham reply got off to a steady start as all the team batted around Joe De La Fuente brilliant 107 of 108 balls but in the end just fell short of the target as the hosts were 181 all out.

Anjum Zafar 4-29 and Shahid Raja 2-31 did the damage but it was the reliable Imran Mehboob who opened the bowling and set the tone with a tight spell conceding only 25 runs off his nine overs including the wicket of the dangerous opener Stuart Ruttler.

Eagles collected the full 30 points as they claimed their fourth successive win of the season.

Eagles welcome Roffey 2nd XI to Cherry Lane on Saturday and will be hoping to carry on the good form.
