Why Gary is the perfect fit for Sussex cricket role

Wallis-Tayler, appointed interim head of community cricket in June, has taken full control of the Sussex Cricket Foundation after impressing in the interview process.

Having been with Sussex Cricket for 12 years, progressing from a Cricket Development Administrator to his most previous role as South Area Territory Manager, he has extensive knowledge of grassroots cricket in the county and has been a major part of the community cricket leadership team.

As well as playing cricket for Poynings CC in the Sussex Cricket League, he leads on Sussex’s partnership with Chance to Shine, which includes school and street cricket programmes, in addition to leading on all other school-based initiatives.

Wallis-Tayler has an immense range of contacts in Sussex and great relationships with clubs, schools and partners that he has established during the years in his various roles at Sussex Cricket.

He has a variety of national contacts formed through his work with the ECB and Chance to Shine.

Wallis-Tayler said: “I am very proud to become the new Community Cricket Director at Sussex Cricket.

“The opportunity to drive the Foundation forward in years to come is one that excites me, whilst continuing the development of cricket in our clubs, schools and communities and inspiring a passion for cricket in the process.
