Ditchling saddlery is in fashion

DRAGONFLY Saddlery is a small saddlery business based in the heart of rural Mid-Sussex at Ditchling, established more than 20 years ago by husband and wife Richard and Sue Paine.

They are both qualified saddle fitters and run their shop together, selling and fitting saddles, washing and repairing rugs and providing a tradition service as done by saddlers of years gone by.

They have also embraced new technology and this year are celebrating 10 years of internet trading.

One unexpected by bi-product of this is that Richard and Sue have been supplying an ever growing number of requests for saddlery and clothing to the fashion world.

POP magazine (for the uber trendy) has used long leather riding boots from Dragonfly Saddlery for its fashion shoots and SHE magazine featured some of their children's riding wear in its March 2009 issue.

Now top fashion house Ralph Lauren, who first sought them out in 2008 with a request for some of their GFS saddles to dress the window of their New Bond Street flagship shop, has established an ongoing partnership with Dragonfly Saddlery.
