Excellent Eventers' Challenge ends club's season on a high

GORING & District Riding Club has now completed a highly successful season of outdoor events, ending on a high with the annual Eventers' Challenge at Titnore Lane, by kind permission of Messrs Somerset.

The event was extremely well subscribed and Jim Lee had built an excellent course, consisting of a blend of show, working hunter and cross-country jumps, consisting of 20 singles and two double obstacles.

The most appealing fence was the last one '” large, but soft straw bales, to be jumped towards home, and near the gate. The horses jumped this beautifully.

Overall the course rode smoothly and flowingly and was enjoyable; and at 9 a round for members entering beforehand was good value for money in these credit-crunched times.

Now the club has started its Winter Dressage Series held at Ferring Country Centre. Entries are open to both non-members and members alike, but members get a discount. Please see website (www.gdrc.org.uk) for the details.
