Family are a fab four

COTTESMORE School and grounds hosted a family golf event at its nine-hole Ostrich Feather chip-and-putt course that saw 40 families take part.

The course was named in honour of the original owner of Buchan Hill, the successful ostrich farming millionaire Philippe Saillard, who built Buchan Hill '“ now known as Cottesmore '“ in 1883.

Some of the mothers, including novices, showed amazing talent. There were some fine swings and one or two air shots.

After a well-earned glass of sherry, Tom Rogerson, the new headmaster, presented the cup to Hugo and Colonel Greville Bibby, who scored 21 points.

Zander and Gillian Bibby came second, so it really was a family foursome on the podium.
