FOOTBALL: Arundel move into the top three

ARUNDEL Football Club moved into third place in County League Division 1 on Tuesday evening with a 3-1 win at Selsey.

Arundel assistant manager Simon Butler was delighted, and said: "Our performance was very good. We totally outplayed them and took our chances well."

Gary Norgate opened the scoring for Arundel with a powerful far post header on 43 minutes.

James Crane added the second on 58 minutes, and Richard Ghent netted the third 10 minutes later. Selsey pulled a goal back with five minutes left.

On Saturday, Mullets are at Eastbourne UA in a top-of-the-table clash, with UA sitting fourth.

Butler said: "It's a massive game. and they have a game in hand over us.

"But, after finishing third two seasons running, we're looking to better ourselves.

"We can't pay too much attention to the league table this early in the season, but we are in good shape."
