The American snatched the world No.1 spot from the Ulsterman last month and is the red-hot favourite to don his fifth Green Jacket on Sunday. MANCHESTER UNITED have splashed the cash in a bid to bring Atletico Madrid ace Falcao to Old Trafford. The 27-year-old Colombian striker is one of the hottest properties in European football with Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid all interested in his services. But it appears United are the side in pole position to sign him. Reports from Spanish newspaper Marca suggest that “a down payment has reportedly been made” and that Falcao is “just a step away from United”. (Daily Express)
