Brighton cruise to victory over beleaguered Pompey

Albion’s positive pre-season preparations continued last night with a resounding 5v1 win over south coast rivals Portsmouth.

The Seagulls’ Spanish star Vicente stole the show with a well taken goal and three assists – setting up goals for Roman Vincelot, Will Hoskins and Matt Sparrow.

Torbjorn Agdestein added a fifth, with Portsmouth registering a single strike from Dan Thompson.

Crisis club Pompey’s team was made up of youth players and trialists, with the Fratton Park outfit’s eight remaining senior players staying at home in the hope a deal can be struck to tear up their contracts.

Brighton boss Gus Poyet remains hopeful of adding at least two more players to his squad in time for the start of the season.
