The Reds beat the O’s 3-2 in their home clash in October through goals by Simon Walton, Roarie Deacon and Mitch Hancox.

Crawley have a good record against the East London club, with six wins coming from seven matches between the two sides.

Their only defeat was the 4-1 reverse suffered during their last trip to Brisbane Road on Boxing Day 2014 which was the final game former boss John Gregory oversaw before stepping down to have a heart operation.

Yates said: “We had a big game for us early in the season. It was our first win at home and we played really well after a tough start we came back from going a goal behind.

“They are looking to get into the play-offs, and a club of their size and a budget to go with it and a new manager (former West Ham captain Kevin Nolan) they will have a fresh impetus you would expect them to be up and around there.

“They are not in the greatest run of form at home, their last couple of games.

“So as well as they are doing away from home - they are above us in the table - we are not going there scared or overawed and will go there looking to give a good, solid performance from ourselves and will try to take the game to them.

“I’m looking to keep improving. For the last three games bar the last 35-minutes at Accrington where we lose two very influencial players in that system, I think we’ve looked strong and organised.

“We are always looking to tweak it. If we see things in the opposition’s team we think can be a weakness we look to try to exploit that or keep doing things we feel are working.

“We go there with a game plan. We go there to be organised against a good team and try and get something from the game.”
