Crawley close to new signing with exits also expected

Dermot Drummy says he is close to adding a new addition - either on loan or a permanent signing - at Crawley Town this week.

The Reds head coach has, however, refused to specify the position of the potential new recruit.

The League Two outfit have already missed out on one signing due to the player opting to go elsewhere on loan as Drummy would not guarantee them a starting place.

And as well as another player coming in, the boss is also expecting some of his squad to be leaving on loan to National League sides once the season gets underway.

Drummy said: “There is one we are close on, but we have just lost one, who has gone elsewhere on a loan move.

“I am going to have to cull it a little bit and I have until the 31st. We have had a couple of enquiries from Conference clubs to let them know what we are doing.

“While we are watching the pecking order above us, other clubs are doing the same. We have just got this week and then I’ll probably see how we go against Wycombe, Wolves and Doncaster to see who is going to stay with us to January.”
