Crawley to host Brighton & Hove Albion in pre-season

Crawley Town will entertain Chris Hughton's Championship promotion hopefuls Brighton & Hove Albion as part of their pre-season preparations.

The Seagulls, who missed out on promotion to the Premier League in the play-offs earlier this month, will visit the Checkatrade Stadium on Saturday, July 16 at 3pm.

It is the stand-out fixture for Reds in pre-season campaign mostly featuring local sides and lower-league opposition.

Dermot Drummy’s side begin their warm-up games with a visit to local Ryman League club East Grinstead Town on July 9, before an even shorter trip to Three Bridges.

Reds will remain at Jubilee Field for their next game, against newly-promoted Ryman Premier side Worthing.

Their first home game arranged so far will be against League One outfit Millwall on July 23, while they travel to Lewes on July 26.

The pre-season campaign currently concludes against National League South side Aldershot Town on Saturday, July 30.

The will face Reds’ assistant head coach Matt Gray’s former side at the EBB Stadium in what will be a 3pm kick-off.

It will be the first time the clubs have met since the 2011-12 League Two campaign when Reds won 1-0 at Aldershot and drew 2-2 at home.

Tues July 12 v Three Bridges (a) 7.45pm

Sat July 16 - Brighton & Hove Albion (h) 3pm

Tues July 19 v Worthing (at Three Bridges FC) 7.45pm

Sat July 23 v Millwall (h) 3pm

Tues July 26 v Lewes (a) 7.45pm

Sat July 30 v Aldershot (a) 3pm
