We are delighted to confirm that Charter Standard club Crawley Panthers were named one of the Clubmark Achiever winners at the recent Sussex Sports Awards which were held at The Grand Hotel in Brighton.
Now in its 12th year and organised by Active Sussex who were joined by special guest Mark Foster the former UK freestyle and butterfly swimmer, who provided attendees with inspirational tales of his own sporting success.
Crawley Panthers were established in 2004 and compete in the Mid Sussex Youth & Minor League with teams ranging from Under 7 up to Under 12 age groups.
The award gives the Pound Hill based club recognition and will assist on giving parents confidence that their children will be attending a safe environment and will also give a clear indication that they are working hard to ensure all their players reach their full potential.
Chris Cordingley (pictured) who has a tri-role as Chairman, Manager and Coach told us: “We have had to meet set standards to achieve this award, the process takes a great deal of time and effort from many club volunteers and I applaud those who have helped us achieve this accreditation.
“For us it proves we are heading in the right direction as the development of children is our main objective.”
Sadie Mason MBE, Active Sussex Chief Executive said: “I would like to congratulate all our winners and nominees throughout Sussex on their wonderful achievements this year.
“The awards ceremony rewards quality, achievement, determination and commitment to those involved in sport across the county.”
Cordingley added “We will also receive benefits from the FA such as discounted coaching courses, kits and other special offers.
“For us to be recognised and presented with this from Mark Foster is a great achievement and rewards the time and effort that gets put into running such a great but small club.”
Going forward the club is looking to add an adult and girl’s team.
