Morris- 9: What would Crawley do without Morris? The 34-year-old single handedly kept the visitors out in the first half with the back four in front of him largely in disarray. Very well deserved sponsors' man of the match.

Maguire- 6: Tried to make things happen but restricted when Crewe were seeing so much of the ball. Excellent corner to set up Joe McNerney's header.

McNerney- 7: Part of a defence which gave Crewe too much space on the ball in the first half but that was forgotten when he settled the game with a towering header. Can't argue with a goal and a clean sheet in a rare start.

N'Gala- 6: Struggled to withstand the wave after wave of attacks from the visitors in the first half, but grew into the game.

Francomb- 6: Quietly went about his business.

Nathaniel-George- 6: Worked hard and looked to have won a second half penalty when he was seemingly tripped but nothing was given — much to the frustration of the home fans.

Bulman- 8: He may be 39 but didn't show any signs of slowing down despite playing for the full 90 minutes. Very composed on the ball, always looking to play it forward. Capped performance off with a poachers' finish to the delight of the fans and fellow players. What a great moment for the veteran.

Payne- 7: Assured but unspectacular. His excellently taken penalty was the difference for 80 minutes.

Gambin- 6: Worked hard but wasn't able to make telling impact.

Poleon- 6: Won a penalty with dangerous run but largely quiet since, until seeing a late goal ruled out for offside.

Camara- 6: Worked hard as ever, but struggled to make a significant impact.

Grego-Cox- 6: Little impact but didn't do too much wrong.

Young- 7: Only on the pitch a matter of minutes but set up third, game sealing goal with well timed cross.
