Konyar attended the video conference of League Two clubs yesterday and the finance side of things was the main point of discussion.

BBC Sport reported that clubs all remained committed to finishing the 2019-20 season, but huge question marks remain over their ability to achieve it with the issues of players contracts being a main concern.

He said: "It wasn’t the main topic of discussion, because that’s something that has to be decided by the government.

"But the main topic of discussion was what’s going to happen with the monies, the players, what happens with contracts.

"There’s a lot of financial burdens on nearly every club."

Crawley Town, who are owned by chairman Ziya Eren, like any club, have had to make tough decisions throughout the pandemic and have furloughed all players and some non-playing staff.

But Konyar believes the immediate future of the club is safe. He said: "There are no immediate worries about the club. But there is a worry on the financial survival and the future and what needs to be done.

"We won’t be able to operate at the same costs for next season and no club will.

"And when you are operating on a deficit with private funding, that burden on the funding, it becomes ugly.

"We are now in a highly-intensive planning stage into looking forward and what can be done because we have to adjust and work out what we do if we can’t have fans next season and things like that so these thought processes have started.

"This is the situation we have found ourselves in."
